On Monday May 22, I dragged my big suitcase and loaded backpack a couple of blocks from A&K's to the bus stop, marveling again how much easier it is to drag those things in an airport than on streets and sidewalks. And maneuvering all that on a city bus is interesting too. And transferring to another bus a couple of blocks away downtown. All part of the adventure, and I was ready for Alaska. We went right by Boeing field where I had business shortly before I retired. This was more fun.
On Tuesday I drove down to Seward making many stops along the way. Wednesday I went on a six hour boat cruise around Resurrection Bay and the adjacent Aialik Bay and saw whales, wildlife on shores, and a calving glacier. Thursday after nosing around Seward I returned to Anchorage and saw two interesting museums. Chris arrived Thursday night and we spent Friday on The Great Glissading Adventure - and survived. The next week we were on The Great Kayak Adventure the most memorable experience of an unforgettable vacation. We concluded with a fishing expedition Saturday.
